Lost In Atlantis
While I do love swishy dresses, sometimes I prefer a shift dress due to its simplistic silhouette and its ability to flatter a small frame. When I saw this one on the Sugarlips website, I knew it'd be perfect for the summer months. With clean lines and a color-blocking ruffle down the front, this "Lost in Atlantis" dress definately sets itself apart from the usually structured shift dresses. The dress has perfectly mastered a balance between the sporty look, that has been so popular this season, and an understated femininity. I'm completely smitten!
I thought the dress stood out really well on it's own, so I decided not to wear any jewelry as to not overpower the dress's chic simplicity. I paired them with my Zara heels for a pop of contrasting orange (I can't seem to get enough of the orange and blue color combination!). Tell me what you think!!!

Get In The Mix
I attended the SHOUT! PR "Get In The Mix" blogger event yesterday. It was so great meeting all of the SHOUT! PR girls and all of the other local OC bloggers! The event was held at the OC Mart Mix, which I've never been to. It's definately a really unique and awesome place, with little shops everywhere carrying everything from cheese, wine, beauty products, and of course clothes! You all should definately check it out if you're in the area!!!
For the event, I wore a cobalt blue dress from Zara matched with heels and and orange clutch. I think I've mentioned it before, but I'm beyond obsessed with the blue and orange color pairing. It matches and contrasts so well, doesn't it? To be honest, this dress looked less than impressive online and on the hanger in stores, but it definately was a great surprise to find how cute it was upon trying it on. I guess this is what they mean by "don't judge a book by its cover?" ...Always take chances with fashion!! :)
Enjoy the pictures!

Swish
Little white dresses are a summer fashion staple, aren't they? I love how light and swishy this one is!! As you can see, I couldn't help but twirl in almost every picture! Sorry, I can't help myself!
I accessorized the look with bright orange heels, perfect for adding a punch of color into the outfit!

Active Luxury :: Delano Store Opening
Hi everyone!
On Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending the Delano store opening in Corona Del Mar. Besides meeting so many nice people, I was introduced to a really cool new brand. I'm really impressed with their line of clothes, which are both functional and stylish. The whole line is simply amazing; the designs are so versatile and the fabrics are so soft and luxurious. My favorite pieces have to be this dress (here) and this sweater (here). These pieces are on my wishlish for sure!
While they definitely are perfect for running from pilates class to lunch, I think they would also be PERFECT for jet setters looking for comfortable and stylish outfits for long flights!!!
Check out the rest of their clothes on their website Delanowear and let me know what you think! Which pieces are your favorites?
Enjoy the pictures!

Studded Tweed
Hi everyone!
Tweed is probably one of my favorite fabrics. There's just something about the texture of it and how it mixes different colors together that's just so intriguing to me. It also has

Take It And Run
We've been having so much gloomy weather lately, it doesn't really feel much like Spring. I'd really like the sun back for a little while, but at least it's not cold! The weather was quite warm this past weekend, despite the clouds, which was perfect for this rather casual ensemble. I really how the knitted cardigan just drapes so well! I wanted it to be the focus of my outfit, so I kept the rest of the look crisp and simple. A swipe of orange lipstick and some sparkly bracelets and I was good to go!
Hope you're all enjoying your week so far!

Excitement!
Sorry for not posting in so long! I've been quite sick for the past couple of weeks and feel MUCH better now!
I wanted to share with you all the new purse I got. I've been dreaming of this purse since I was like...10? It's a Louis Vuitton Cannes, which was discontinued quite a while ago. I've never seen a vintage piece kept in such beautiful condition! It hardly looks used at all! I'm so excited to add this bag to my growing collection! :)
Enjoy the pictures of my other recent purchases as well!

Happy New Year Again!
Today is Chinese New Year, also known as "Lunar New Year." It's a really festive time in Asian culture, with lots of gifts, parties, food, and especially those little red envelopes with money inside. My family had a little party yesterday to celebrate. We had so much food, I'm still full thinking about it.
I wanted to share with you all some pictures from a fashion show I was part of last year for Chinese New Year. It was televised on TV, but I believe it was only in the US. It was such a fun experience, especially since I don't know much about Vietnamese culture in general. The dress I'm wearing is a traditional "Ao Dai" which is somewhat like the national dress in Vietnam. The designs are quite intricate don't you think? They usually come in all sorts of colors ranging from pastels to brighter hues, but red is the most traditional. I was the only one at the fashion show actually wearing a "traditional" dress with long sleeves, a high collar, and a hat. Most of the other girls were wearing very modern ones, with one shoulder designs and open necklines. I felt like the makeup artist made my makeup too dark for my skintone, but surprisingly, on TV, I looked normal. It must have been all those bright lights they used for filming! I still prefer how I do my makeup myself though.
These pictures were taken by David Chung. You can see more of his work, as well as more pictures from the fashion show here.

Little Things
I can't believe I made it through the first week of school! It was completely exhausting, with no time to take pictures for the blog. But I'm really happy it's the weekend now!!!
Just before my Christmas holiday ended, I ordered some scarves from BCBG.com from their BCBGeneration line. I've always been a huge fan of BCBG. I love their modern designs, fun use of colors, and the impeccable quality of their clothes. I love my new scarves, especially since I don't really have anything in these colors in my wardrobe yet. That green is lovely isn't it? Hope you enjoy the pictures!
P.S. Don't forget to "like" the new Bijou-Minou Facebook page!!!

Holiday Fashion Part 1
I've been so busy studying for final exams that I didn't have time to post for the last week! But since finals are over (thank god!) I can finally concentrate on posting for the blog!
I've decided to do a series of posts on holiday fashion. It's not always easy picking outfits to wear to parties and family get-togethers. Hopefully this series of posts can be of inspiration to you all when choosing your outfits!
I'm wearing a yellow cocktail dress I bought last year in Beverly Hills and Christian Louboutin Armadillo pumps. Red lips and old-Hollywood waves really add some drama and glamour to this outfit! Accessorize with some sparkly bangles and your set for your next party!
Enjoy the pictures and keep a lookout for my next "Holiday Fashion" post!
