Cozy :: Stripes and Sequins

The amazing team over at Firmoo sent me these glasses last week, and I think I love them even more than my last pair! the tortoise shell frams are not only chic, but they also have a very retro vibe to them, making them that much more amazing! Firmoo is still doing their Free Glasses promotion for new customers, so you can snag a pair yourself and channel your inner nerd!

It's been getting colder and colder lately, which makes the weather perfect for layering. I love how the sequin embellishments peak out from under the sweater and add sparkle to my look! Whats the holiday season without some sparkle right?

Jeans and Jewels

Because you just can't be dressed up all the time...
On days when I just don't feel like dressing up, I really love a jeans and T-shirt combo. I really don't like looking sloppy though, so I added a vest and statement necklace. I think statement jewelry is really a great way to pull a casual outfit together, don't you?

Golden:: Lace Peplum and Houndstooth

Can this top be any more stunning? The gold lace, the peplum, the open back....it's just so opulent! I love how fancy it is, though I can also easily see myself dressing it down with a pair of jeans and a blazer. Very versatile. On this occasion, I decided to pair the top with a full skirt to emphasize the peplum's effect. I love how the mixed prints turned out!

Little Red Dress

This dress is perfection. While little black dresses are timeless and elegant, there's something about a little red dress that's so festive and exciting. As the weather cools, and the holidays approach,  red seems like the perfect color for a cocktail dress. It's still a very classic color, but is very bright and vivacious! I love the caged back detailing on this one too!

I decided to pair my black patent booties with the dress, instead of the usual, expected black pumps. A little more exciting, no?

Lace and Chiffon

Just when I thought it was finally cooling down for good, the temperature shoots right back up to 90 degrees! So much for sweater weather huh? I guess it's not so bad wearing summer outfits a little longer since I'm sure it'll be freezing in no time. I really do love wearing sheer, flowy fabrics when it's hot, since tend to feel cooler. I love the draped front on this NRFB top and the braided straps too. It's very romantic and girly, perfect for a hot summer/autumn day!

By the way, can you tell that my hair is shorter and darker? :)

Nerdy Side

I’m currently channeling my inner nerd with these new glasses from Firmoo! Although I usually wear contacts, I like having a spare pair of glasses handy for days spent lounging around at home and watching TV/movies at night, since I have a tendency to fall asleep
Self-proclaimed as the “most popular online eyeglasses store,”  Firmoo carries a huge variety of prescription and sunglasses for both men and women at extremely affordable prices. And when I say extremely affordable, I mean under $100.
I found the ordering experience to be extremely streamlined and easy. I picked out the pair of glasses I wanted, then input my prescription, and I was good to go! I ordered prescription glasses, but non-prescription lenses are also available for those of you who just want to play with the nerdy look! Firmoo has a bunch of add-ons that are available for your glasses at pretty affordable prices as well , such as lens tinting, anti-glare coatings, polycarb lenses, as well as super thin lenses.
I know ordering glasses online seems pretty iffy since you can’t physically try them on, but that problem is solved with the virtual “try on” feature on the website.  You can upload a picture of yourself, or take a picture with your webcam. It’s pretty simple to do and I think gives a nice preview of how the glasses would look on your face.
All of the glasses come with a hard plastic case, a soft traveling pouch, a cleaning cloth, and a mini-repair kit that includes extra screws and mini screwdriver. I really love that you get a repair kit, as sometimes those screws can come undone after a while. As for the glasses themselves, they’re great! The lens prescription is perfect, and the glasses feel super light-weight and are very comfortable to wear.  And since they’re inexpensive, I don’t worry so much about them, since they’re always replaceable!
You guys can also get a free pair of glasses too! Firmoo currently has a promotion going on allowing new customers to receive a free pair of glasses. All you have to do is pay shipping! Check out the details here!
If you guys were wondering these are the glasses I’m wearing!  Although, I love these ones as well!
Check them out and let me know what you guys think!

Hidden :: White Button Down & Metallic Shorts

I can't get enough of this white button down! If you follow me on instagram (@bijouminou), you know how excited I was to receive this shirt from Sugarlips. I pretty much put it on as soon as I received it and it's been on frequent rotation in my closet lately as well. I have a thing for white button downs...well, button downs in general. Especially when they have unique details like this one does. The shirt features sequins not only on the cuff, but also hidden under the collar, which makes a subtle, yet glamorous statement. I'm all about the drapey fit too! I really hate when button downs are too stiff, but this one has a perfectly draped, loose fit that looks perfectly undone.

Royal

This dress from Sugarlips just screams Fall to me! The opulent scarf print and the bright red color look very regal and are so representative of the luxurious feel of Fall fashion.  I'm in love with the sweetheart neckline and the fuller circle skirt too!

Peplum & Distressed Denim

I've been wearing shorts and dresses almost every day for....practically the whole summer. So I thought I'd change it up and wear some jeans (even though it's still ridiculously hot!). Though the daytime is almost unbearable, at least the evenings and nights are super nice and comfortable!

Hope you all have a nice labor day weekend!

Revelrie

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting the Revelrié showroom to preview their fall 2012 sweater collection. Nestled in the Fashion District of Downtown LA, the showroom was a sweater wonderland containing pieces that would fit all trends and lifestyles.
The designer, Sonya Trejo, was so amazing and inspiring as she told me about the inspiration behind her line, the fabrics, and the overall feel she was going for in designing the line. A self-described dreamer, Sonya had a story behind each and every sweater and was so excited about each and every piece, that it was impossible for me not to be excited too!

The sweaters themselves range from prim and proper, with a 60's mod flare to very slouchy with a boho vibe.  Even though the range isn't huge, each piece serves its own purpose and definitely has its own personality. These are definitely sweaters that you can dress up or down, which is amazing for those of us with a busy lifestyle, who want to look great but don't have lots of time.  Made of fine Italian yarns, angora, and alpaca from Peru, the sweaters are just as soft and comfy as they are stylish. Sonya was super enthusiastic about the materials and it was so great to hear her explain the aesthetics of each material she uses and why she likes them. Her knowledge on yarns is mind-blowing and she's definitely an alpaca expert!

The colors used in the line are very neutral hues, with pops of primary colors here and there in some of the pieces. While the colors are very trendy for fall, I think they would work in any time, in any season. These definitely aren't sweaters that you just wear for one season, which Sonya said, was her intention. She designed these pieces to be more like "heirloom" pieces that can transcend seasons and time, and just be a stylish choice for any woman, no matter what season it is, or what's "in." Also, lots of the pieces are made locally using sustainable materials, which is great for those fashionistas that are eco-conscious (shouldn't we all be??).

Check out more of Sonya's line {here}

Animal Instinct

I've never been one to completely embrace the animal print trend, but it definitely grows on me each season. I'm at a point where I kinda like it, and I kinda don't....it just depends on the piece.
I love the back of this top though, which is what drew me to it in the first place. I love that it's so open and drapey in the back, but completely demure in the front....not to mention it's made of super light-weight knit, so it never gets hot wearing it.

I'm completely hating the heat wave we're having here right now, but I guess it comes with the territory living in SoCal!

Fall Wishlist

fall wishlist

Is it a little too early to start shopping for Fall?....
I must admit I'm a little sick of the hot weather lately, and am actually looking forward to cooler weather. I can't wait to layer up some slouchy sweaters and don some scarves and boots!

I'm definitely behind on the whole armcandy front. I really love the look it gives, but being rather minimalistic when it comes to accessorizing, i don't really have much to stack on my wrist. I'm thinking I need to stock up on some bangles and bracelets sometime soon? And perhaps get myself an Urban Decay Naked/Naked II palette while I'm at it. I've heard nothing but good things about it!

What are your fall must haves?

Summer Sun

OK, so Abercrombie isn't exactly high fashion or anything, but once in a while they do catch my attention with a piece or two. Known more for their laid-back, casual attire, I was a little surprised to see this dress hanging amongst a sea of jeans and t-shirts. I love its charming seersucker print and its fuller skirt, which makes this more casual dress a little more flirty.

And I'm totally loving this random vineyard. It looks like it's right out of a storybook, doesn't it? Very picturesque indeed!

Blue Jeans

Hi Everyone!

So these denim shorts are my first pair.....well...ever! I know, I know, who doesn't own a pair of denim shorts right? Especially shocking since denim cutoffs seem to be the fashion staple of every girl in Southern California. But I have to admit, while they are a little cliché , there's also a timeless quality about them, which makes me reach for them more often than not on scorching hot days. Perhaps they'll find their way into my list of fashion staples now??

I paired  my new shorts with a loose button down, sleeves rolled up, for a relaxed vibe. This tops is one of my favorites, and I especially love the black stripe down the back. Very tuxedo like.
Let me know what you think!

Star Spangled

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a fun and safe Independence Day!  I know I did!

In honor of the holiday, I decided to wear red, white, and blue. I realized while putting together my outfit that I really don't have much red clothing, other than red shoes. It's a little weird that I have a couple of pairs of red shoes, but no red clothes. Blue, on the other hand, is all over my closet!

Lost In Atlantis

While I do love swishy dresses, sometimes I prefer a shift dress due to its simplistic silhouette and its ability to flatter a small frame. When I saw this one on the Sugarlips website, I knew it'd be perfect for the summer months. With clean lines and a color-blocking ruffle down the front, this "Lost in Atlantis" dress definately sets itself apart from the usually structured shift dresses. The dress has perfectly mastered a balance between the sporty look, that has been so popular this season, and an understated femininity. I'm completely smitten!

I thought the dress stood out really well on it's own, so I decided not to wear any jewelry as to not overpower the dress's chic simplicity. I paired them with my Zara heels for a pop of contrasting orange (I can't seem to get enough of the orange and blue color combination!). Tell me what you think!!!

Get In The Mix

I attended the SHOUT! PR "Get In The Mix" blogger event yesterday. It was so great meeting all of the SHOUT! PR girls and all of the other local OC bloggers! The event was held at the OC Mart Mix, which I've never been to. It's definately a really unique and awesome place, with little shops everywhere carrying everything from cheese, wine, beauty products, and of course clothes! You all should definately check it out if you're in the area!!!

For the event, I wore a cobalt blue dress from Zara matched with heels and and orange clutch. I think I've mentioned it before, but I'm beyond obsessed with the blue and orange color pairing. It matches and contrasts so well, doesn't it? To be honest, this dress looked less than impressive online and on the hanger in stores, but it definately was a great surprise to find how cute it was upon trying it on. I guess this is what they mean by "don't judge a book by its cover?" ...Always take chances with fashion!! :)

Enjoy the pictures!

Swish

Little white dresses are a summer fashion staple, aren't they? I love how light and swishy this one is!! As you can see, I couldn't help but twirl in almost every picture! Sorry, I can't help myself!

I accessorized the look with bright orange heels, perfect for adding a punch of color into the outfit!

Active Luxury :: Delano Store Opening

Hi everyone!

On Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending the Delano store opening in Corona Del Mar. Besides meeting so many nice people, I was introduced to a really cool new brand. I'm really impressed with their line of clothes, which are both functional and stylish. The whole line is simply amazing; the designs are so versatile and the fabrics are so soft and luxurious. My favorite pieces have to be this dress (here) and this sweater (here). These pieces are on my wishlish for sure!

While they definitely are perfect for running from pilates class to lunch, I think they would also be PERFECT for jet setters looking for comfortable and stylish outfits for long flights!!!

Check out the rest of their clothes on their website Delanowear and let me know what you think! Which pieces are your favorites?

Enjoy the pictures!

Studded Tweed

Hi everyone!

Tweed is probably one of my favorite fabrics. There's just something about the texture of it and how it mixes different colors together that's just so intriguing to me. It also has

Top Hat

Sorry it's been so long since my last outfit post! I recently got a new camera (yay!) but accidentally forgot to buy a card-reader to upload the pictures onto my computer. Silly mistake, but it's all good now!

I feel the weeks are getting more and more hectic as final exams approach, but I'm hoping the thought of summer will keep me going a little longer!

Wishing you all a great week!
